Covid times are frustratingly slow and everyone is very tired of it all at this point. Thankfully restrictions are beginning to relax and people are starting to be able to return to a semblance of living again. We are doing just that and have booked our flight to return to our boat and take her from where she has sat at North Hero Marina at Pelots Point, VT ( LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE: N.44 50.196′ —- W.73 18.102′) to where we live in Grand Lake, New Brunswick. Total trip will be between 800-900 nm. Myself, Suzanne and an experienced sailing friend Mike, from Oromocto will be making the trip. We leave on Tuesday Morning from Moncton, NB through Montreal-Chicago-Burlington, VT. A rental car from the airport to get us to North Hero and to ready the boat to travel, as I'm sure after sitting this long it will need a few things and we will get a chance to provision. So finally, nearing 2 years later we will get to finally be on the boat and start moving her home. It is not a quick trip and we expect to not be back home till the beginning of August. It is a delivery trip, but we will do our best to try to enjoy some of the scenery along the way. 3 crew will make it a little easier as she is not set up with creature comforts like autopilot, etc yet. Suzanne will get to adjust her chef skills to her new tiny kitchen. I'm sure we will be eating better than the average live-aboard and weekenders. Mike has been up and down this coast numerous times and was a live-aboard around the Caribbean for many years, so we are as prepared as we can be as we begin. So, that's how it will begin in a few days, long anticipated and long overdue. The fun begins.
